Position Summary

The Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) provides flight and ground instruction to student pilots in accordance with FAA regulations and company training standards. This role supports student development, safety, and training progression within a structured training environment.


Responsibilities
  • Provide flight instruction in accordance with FAA regulations and company training standards
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight briefings
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
  • Ensure training is conducted in a safe and professional manner
  • Provide ground instruction for aeronautical knowledge
  • Prepare students for FAA written, oral, and practical exams
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation
  • Monitor student progression and communicate concerns
  • Ensure endorsements and logbook entries are completed correctly
  • Adhere to FAA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) reporting
  • Ensure safe aircraft operation within limitations
  • Coordinate with dispatch and instructors for scheduling
  • Maintain availability to support student progression
  • Support operational efficiency and training quality
  • Promote a positive training culture
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct
  • Participate in meetings, standardization, and training

Requirements
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate (Single Engine Land or Multi-Engine Land)
  • Instrument Airplane Rating
  • Valid FAA Class II or Class I Medical Certificate
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to mentor and coach students
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Professional judgment and decision-making ability
  • Ability to manage multiple students and schedules
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
