Description

Position Summary

The Pilot in Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe transportation of passengers, crewmembers, and cargo during all aircraft operations. The position reports to the Chief Pilot and conducts operations under FAR Part 91 and Part 135 while serving as the final authority for aircraft operations and operational decision-making.


Responsibilities

• Serve as final authority for operation of the assigned aircraft
• Delay, cancel, or discontinue flights when conditions are unsuitable
• Modify flight plans as necessary to ensure safe operations
• Adhere to company operating policies and procedures
• Conduct comprehensive flight planning
• Evaluate weather, routing, airport, and traffic conditions
• Review aircraft performance limitations and operational requirements
• Ensure flights are completed safely and in accordance with regulations
• Conduct proper preflight inspections
• Review and report aircraft maintenance status
• Verify weight and balance compliance
• Ensure passenger, crew, and aircraft safety
• Complete all required trip documentation accurately
• Maintain compliance with Part 135 operational control requirements
• Report flight interruptions to the company
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Chief Pilot


Requirements

• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• 3,500 Hours Total Flight Time
• 1,500 Hours PIC Turbine Time
• Strong Crew Resource Management (CRM) Skills
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to travel internationally without restriction
• Enrollment in an FAA/DOT Drug and Alcohol Program
• Ability to pass TSA Criminal History Check
• Ability to reside within 90 minutes of Birmingham, AL or relocate to the area
