Description

Position Summary

The Base Chief Pilot provides day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight for pilots assigned to the base. This flying leadership role serves as both a Pilot-in-Command and base-level leader, supporting pilot development, standardization, safety, training, and operational excellence while helping maintain a professional and pilot-focused culture.


Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct supervisor and primary point of contact for pilots assigned to the Milwaukee base
• Report to the System Chief Pilot regarding base operations, staffing, scheduling, pilot performance, and operational needs
• Maintain proficiency and currency as a CJ4 Pilot-in-Command
• Support pilot standardization and adherence to company policies, SOPs, checklists, and manuals
• Serve as the assigned on-call Base Chief Pilot when scheduled
• Mentor new hires and support pilot development initiatives
• Participate in pilot interviews, selection, onboarding, and retention efforts
• Assist with recurrent training, pilot readiness, and checking events when authorized and qualified
• Coordinate with training, scheduling, dispatch, and operational leadership teams
• Conduct pilot performance reviews and provide coaching and development support
• Address pilot performance and disciplinary matters as appropriate
• Manage local pilot schedules in support of operational requirements
• Support implementation of procedures, policies, safety initiatives, and operational improvements


Requirements

• ATP Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land Privileges
• Current First Class Medical Certificate
• Minimum 3,500 Hours Total Flight Time
• Minimum 1,500 Hours Multi-Engine Time
• Minimum 500 Hours Turbofan Time
• Minimum 2 Years Part 135 and/or Part 121 Experience
• Minimum 1 Year PIC Experience in Turbojet Operations
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must reside or relocate within one hour of the Milwaukee area
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and flight operations standards
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

• CE-525 Type Rating
• Citation CJ4 Operating Experience
• 100+ Hours in CE-525C Aircraft
• Previous Part 135 PIC Experience
• Previous Check Pilot, Instructor, Training Captain, Lead Pilot, Assistant Chief Pilot, or Base Leadership Experience
• International Operating Experience
