Description
Position Summary
The Lead Captain serves as a flight crewmember while also providing leadership and operational oversight within the flight department. This position ensures effective communication between the flight department and operational stakeholders, assists with training coordination, schedule management, compliance oversight, and supports the overall operation of the assigned aircraft.
Responsibilities
• Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) as designated
• Ensure compliance with flight and maintenance schedules
• Ensure crew compliance with applicable regulations, directives, and SOPs
• Ensure completion of pre-flight and post-flight duties and inspections
• Coordinate aircraft cleaning and inventory requirements
• Monitor crew performance and communicate with leadership regarding evaluations
• Complete and approve crew expense reports
• Review monthly billing summaries and report discrepancies
• Coordinate crew schedules, days off, and vacation requests
• Liaise with training and flight operations leadership
• Review crew currency and training requirements
• Conduct annual aircraft audits
• Ensure compliance with fleet requirements and operational authorizations
• Assist with maintenance coordination and communication during scheduled and unscheduled events
• Review maintenance invoices and communicate maintenance-related items
• Communicate owner requests and schedule changes to appropriate departments
• Support special projects and operational reporting requirements
• Facilitate positive working relationships within the flight department
• Promote company culture and operational excellence
• Assist in managing the aircraft owner experience
• Participate in the hiring and interview process for flight department personnel
• Make recommendations for additional training and development opportunities
Requirements
• PC-24 Type Rating
• First Class Medical Certificate
• ATP Certificate
• Valid and unexpired Driver’s License
• Valid and unexpired Passport
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Must reside within two hours of KSNA or be willing to relocate
• Must meet applicable FAA Part 91 and/or Part 135 requirements for assigned aircraft
