Description

Position Summary

Seeking an Aviation Representative to support the development, preservation, and safety of aviation throughout Minnesota. This position provides technical expertise in airport operations, aviation safety, regulatory compliance, airport inspections, pilot services, and aviation education while supporting the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Aeronautics.


Responsibilities

• Inspect and license airports and commercial aviation operators
• Enforce Minnesota aeronautics statutes and regulations
• Organize and conduct aviation safety and educational seminars for pilots and airport operators
• Provide pilot services in single-engine turbine aircraft
• Support the development, preservation, and safety of aviation throughout Minnesota
• Provide technical expertise related to aviation operations and airport programs
• Travel throughout Minnesota as required to support inspections and aviation activities


Requirements

• Three years of professional aviation-related experience in airport operations, airport planning, aviation maintenance, aviation data management, or professional pilot operations
• Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single Engine Land with Instrument Rating, or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
• Valid First Class Medical Certificate by time of appointment
• Valid Minnesota Class D Driver’s License
• Ability to pass employment reference checks and criminal history screening
• Legal authorization to work in the United States


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience flying turbine aircraft
• 1,000 Total Flight Hours
• 500 Pilot-in-Command Fixed Wing Hours
• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including 14 CFR Part 77

Compensation

• $69,906 – $103,690 annually
• $33.48 – $49.66 per hour
