High School music teacher turned pilot, I began my journey in the aviation industry in 2020. After prompting and guiding students to follow their aspirations, I decided it was time I do the same for myself and chase my childhood dream of becoming a pilot! I began my flying career as a Part 61 instructor at Platinum Aviation in Spanish Fork, UT, where I was able to polish my aviation knowledge by teaching new students in a variety of Diamond, Cessna, and Piper aircraft. Using my past experience in education, I achieved an 80% first-try pass rate for my student’s checkrides. While I was instructing, I also had the opportunity to apply my skills doing Part 91 aerial survey work for ClearGrid. During this time, I accumulated 737 hours of flight instruction, as well as 165 hours of aerial survey.
After instructing and flying survey, I was offered a job flying the Cessna Caravan at Corporate Air, a Part 135 Fed-Ex Feeder. Here I have successfully navigated through Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) and worked with ATC to complete the freight missions safely. Now with 2100+ total hours, with 850+ of those hours in the Caravan, this position has boosted my confidence and skills as a professional pilot.
